Yoga for children is about movement and play, along with rest and relaxation. Children train their balance, concentration and flexibility in imaginative yoga exercises such as the dog, the cat and the warrior!
In one exercise, you stand on one leg and keep your balance. In another you lie completely still and don´t move a muscle. The exercises are tailored to children aged between 8 and 12, but younger children can do the exercises too.
The primary aim of yoga for children is to have fund and preferably activate all the senses. Choose your favourite exercises and vary, refresh and change the workout. We recommend that you work on a yoga mat. It stops you slipping and offers good support for the body. Annette Lefterow guides your children through a 20 min yoga session also featuring her junior student Kevin Williams.
